When I staretd using Renfert Geo Expert wax, I was surprised by its realistic and natural expression. Due to this, I am getting a lot of passion and inspiration for my work. In recent times, dental techniques are rapidly becoming digitized, but I don’t think that we should neglect our effort and practice to reproduce a natural tooth’s shape and color. In addition, I think that only an endless interest in natural teeth and the attempt to perfectly reproduce them is what increases our value.
My philosophy, realized with the GEO Expert Wax Set
First, I use the effect orange wax to allow some chroma over the cervical area. At this stage, to create the natural transition to the next dentin wax, the thickness of the layer of the effect orange wax should be thinner at the incisal. To give more softness, mixing of effect orange wax and dentin wax can be helpful.
Internal structure: Dentin wax can be used to create a wax-up of the internal structure of the tooth’s dentin structure. The most important part of this procedure is to re-create the natural dentin’s color, which coming through a translucent enamel wax you have to consider the accurate position, dimension, proper size and length.
Central grooves and/or pots of the occlusal table: Effect brown wax can be used to provide the dark brownish color.
The layer between the enamel and the dentin: The effect blue wax can be used to recreate this layer with circling the occlusal table.
Final step! Enamel wax can be used to create the ridge and the whole contour of the occlusal table with consideration for the relationship of the opposites.
My tip – Too much enamel wax can make the final wax up look dull. To compensate this, you can use translucent wax to as a final step.
Additional tip – Effect white wax can be used to create the white spots of the cusp tips or the ridges and the crack lines, etc.
Effect brown wax can be used to create the hair lines over the cervical area.
